Master Gary Hotchkiss
,4th Degree Black Belt

Master Hotchkiss has been studying Lewis Tae Kwon Do for 16 years and instructing children, teens and adults for the past 10 years. Currently serving as co-captain of the Kang Do Warriors Competition and Demonstration Team, he has performed in numerous public demonstrations and educational seminars. Master Hotchkiss regularly competes and consistently places high in regional martial arts tournaments and competitions. In addition, he has attained a high level of proficiency with oriental weapons such as the Katana (Japanese sword), Bong (6' staff) and Nunchaku among others.

Sabum Bob Soeder, 3rd Degree Black Belt

Mr. Soeder has been involved in the study of Lewis Tae Kwon Do for over 10 years. He has taught children and adults for the last 5 years. He has also taught self-defense courses for children and senior citizens, and regularly teaches at the Kang Do Won Martial Arts Institute.

Grand Master Richard J. Lewis

Grand Master Lewis holds the ranks of 8th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate), 4th degree black belt in Sun Do (Korean art of breathing, meditation and concentration) and 3rd degree black belt in Bong-Sool (full contact 6' staff fighting). While the vast majority of American Masters are certified only here in the U.S.A. by another individual or organization, Grand Master Lewis is one of the rare few American Tae Kwon Do teachers to earn certification as an International Master Black Belt from the Kuk Ki Won and World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF) located in Seoul, Korea.

Grand Master Lewis began his martial arts career in 1964 and has been teaching Tae Kwon Do since 1970. He is one of a rare and vanishing breed of martial artists who believe that martial art is primarily a philosophy or way of life that inspires total human development, not destruction. He teaches in a very structured, strict and disciplined manner and demands maximum focus and effort from his students.

His teaching philosophy is that “...Knowledge and physical skills are useless without the power from within to implement them,” and as a result, strictness, structure and discipline are the foundation of all classes he teaches.
