Who We Are
Pope Leo has shared his message with all of us to help others and to hear the cries of the poor. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been putting these words into practice for more than170 years.
At St. Monica Parish, St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) has been in existence since 1980 to help bring God’s love to the poor. At this time, volunteer members are actively involved in the Society’s charitable works.
How can you help grow your faith while helping others? Our operating funds come from St. Monica Parish through your donations in the Poor Boxes at Church entrances, your contributions in the quarterly SVDP envelopes found in your Church envelope packets, and from generous monetary and food donations from the many organizations and individuals in our parish. Our parishioners and our organizations enable us to help others and to keep our food pantry open to all in need. 100% of your donations are used to help others. We do not have any operating expenses. Everything you give goes to those less fortunate. Our SVDP needs your help to keep growing to assist the poor. Food and/or monetary donations can be dropped of at the Parish Office or in the bin marked SVDP behind the altar. Your continued generosity is truly an example of faith in action. Remember to pray for those in need. We want to thank you and ask God’s special blessings to all of you who help keep the St. Vincent de Paul Ministry alive and well in our parish.
Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Parish Office and leave a message on the SVDP phone line so that together we can help those who are suffering.
SVDP is requesting an easy way for our Church community to help the pantry. Consider bringing non-perishable food donations the LAST Sunday of each month to Mass with you at St. Monica Church. Together we hope to start a new idea. Just bring a can or two with you to church each month. Together we can make a difference. Your food donations will go directly to those who need our help.
